Okres poporodowy, czyli tzw. puerperium, to czas powrotu narządów rozrodczych do stanu przed zacieleniem i jednocześnie odzyskiwania zdolności do zajścia w ponowną ciążę. Zachodzi wtedy szereg istotnych procesów. Jednym z nich jest inwolucja, czyli obkurczanie macicy. Artykuł omawia kolejne etapy procesu oraz najczęstsze patologie, które mogą wystąpić.

Abstract
Post-pregnancy period, known as puerperium, is the process of turning reproductive organs to their pre-pregnancy stage and simultaneously regaining the possibility to conceive. Numerous crucial processes take place at this time and involution is one of them. The following article discusses progressive stages and the most frequent dysfunctions occuring while uterus involution.
