Abstract

The Miniature Spitz, known as the Pomeranian due to its place of origin, is becoming a very popular breed worldwide. Although the Spitz is a dog with a low incidence of disease, attention should be paid to a few diseases that develop in them more frequently. Among the dermatoses, this breed is predisposed to the development of atopic dermatitis, hypothyroidism, sterile nodular panniculitis, postclipping alopecia, secondary bacterial infections and alopecia X. The article highlights the specific manifestations of these diseases for Pomeranians, including the patomechanisms of their onset and therapeutic options.
